Prerequisite Program

Please note that applicants who wish to take the Advanced Certificate in PI with Fluence must first complete the Certificate in Psychedelic Therapy and Integration (PTI), a 6-week foundational program that is intended as a primer for all advanced Fluence modules. Those who have not yet completed the PTI program may still apply directly to Adv. PI, but will be required to select a PTI cohort during the application process. Applicants who have already enrolled in previous cohorts of PTI may submit an abbreviated, supplemental application to the Adv. PI program. That application is available here. Please note only one application is required in either case.

  • Hold an active medical or clinical license or be on track to obtain licensure through an advanced degree program or post-graduate professional experience.
  • Have prior training and counselling experience practicing psychotherapy or related health care services in the field of mental health or addiction treatment.

Additionally, candidates are expected to have the capacity to participate online in a group learning process. These qualifications outline the minimum requirements for the program. The Admissions Committee will consider years of experience, education, and capabilities.

The application includes basic information about the applicant, their professional background, and existing experience. It also includes opportunities for applicants to present their intentions, values, goals, and aspirations for joining the program.

The Admissions Committee will review and come to a decision on the approval and admission of the applicant within 1 week of receipt. Additional Fluence training team members may be consulted for input during this process, and any team members’ existing relationship with the applicant may be taken into consideration. Once a decision has been reached the program administrator will provide the applicant with an acceptance, deferral, or refusal letter.

I came to the PHRI program confused about how I could ever integrate psychedelic medicine into my clinical and academic work, but the journey through the classes (especially Dr. Guss!), the wonderful retreats and mentoring has brought me to a useful place of confidence in working with patients around their psychedelic experiences.

John Burton, MD
PHRI Certificate Program Graduate

My Fluence experience has been deep, rich and broad. It included education, but also connection, inspiration, wisdom, and opportunity. I am grateful for the structure, facilitation, diversity and meaningfulness of the material. My heart is full of love and gratitude for every single person within the Fluence community who has been part of my training. The entire experience has exceeded expectations.

Stephanie Barss, PMHNP, FNP

With the many psychedelic training programs emerging, it can be daunting to choose one. I have found the instructors at Fluence warm and welcoming, as well as extremely knowledgeable and passionate about this field. The courses are relevant and practical, providing actionable concepts and skills that be instantly applied in my professional life. I feel supported by the Fluence community and have benefited from the ability to network with others. I am grateful for my experience at Fluence and would not hesitate to choose this program again!

Stephanie Napolitano, LMHC
PHRI Certificate Program Student

My time in Fluence’s Psychedelic Harm Reduction Integration certificate program thus far has been invaluable. The program is both accessible and rigorous, flexible and structured and is already directly applicable to my private practice work. The instructors are actively involved in current, ground-breaking research and have years of experience in the field. I have also enjoyed getting to know my fellow students, who hail from all over the world and also share in the excitement and desire to fold psychedelic integration into their clinical work.

Alison Haar
PHRI Certificate Program Graduate

I chose Fluence to certify me in Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration based on how interactive their program is, the highly sought after instructors that would be training me, and how much they care about communicating with me related to my progress and development in the program.
